EPZA’s main functions are;

  • Promotion of Tanzania’s Economic Zones as investment destinations;

  • Development of infrastructure;

  • Issuance of EPZ/SEZ business licenses; and

  • Provision of business facilitation services to EPZ/SEZ investors.

 In infrastructure development projects, EPZA involves the private sector using various partnership arrangements including Build, Operate and Transfer (BOT) arrangements.
